Pension Consultants vs. Financial Advisors

We all have our own stock broker(s)/financial advisor(s). And we are well aware that they won't expose us to anything that can't make them money - particularly investing in your own business or income property. Most of the time, Retirement Plan Financial Advisors are honest about their fees but sometimes we are amazed at the hidden nature of brokers' asset based fees and  subsidies". This page is designed to show the difference between a true fee based consultant and a commission (subsidy) based financial "advisor". As you will see, we feel that anyone accepting a subsidy from an investment provider is really acting as a commissioned broker. That includes Third Party Administrators who take subsidies from insurance companies and mutual fund companies, regardless of disclosure.

The folks at Anything But Stocks are true consultants to the client. We do not work for or receive any compensation from any provider.
